Online platform transformation for furniture shopping

PROJECT OVERVIEW

EZ Living Furniture revamped their online presence by migrating to Magento 2, focusing on a customer-friendly design. The project included features like a custom responsive layout, easy product filtering, integrated stock management, promotional tools, back order options, and tailored shipping costs, enhancing the customer shopping experience.

The objective of the project was to migrate the existing EZLiving Furniture website from Prestashop to Magento (Magento 2, Community Edition) and redesign it.

EZLiving Furniture wanted to create a simple beautiful design that their customers could easily navigate to find exactly what they were looking for.

OUR SOLUTIONS

Before we began development, we held a Design Phase to ensure we fully understood the EZLiving Furniture Brand, Design Assets and Design Challenge.

During this phase, we thoroughly researched competitor sites to identify best practices and possible solutions that we could integrate with our vision for EZLiving Furniture.

Once we had conducted our research and presented the findings, we began design how both the desktop and mobile sites would look and created prototypes to discuss with the customer. This was an iterative process ensuring that we worked closely with the client, receiving constant input and feedback.

Following the final sign off of designs and the concept we began to scope out what work was needed.

This required working closely with the client to ensure we were covering all aspects of the site and were taking every consideration including their Retail Management Software and their fulfilment process in to account. We held daily standups, weekly planning and retros and monthly stakeholder meetings.

THE METHODOLOGY

As with all our projects, this project was delivered using the Agile framework and utilising Scrum. We worked sprint by sprint with the EZLiving Furniture team, to develop their new look site.

Some of the key features of the site:

  • Custom responsive design

  • Custom attributes to allow the customer to easily filter the site to find what they were looking for

  • Custom stock import integrated with their RMS

  • Custom Cart rules and custom catalogue rules to enable easy promotion of products

  • Ability to back order products

  • Custom shipping integration to display the shipping price depending on the customer shipping address
