Future Ready: Our Engaging B2B eCommerce Event in London

Just ahead of the huge eCommerce Expo in London, Monsoon Consulting, hosted the event “Future Ready: Elevating Your B2B eCommerce”  in partnership with Adobe and Adyen on September 17th. 

The event was full of expert insights, and strategies to elevate B2B eCommerce for a variety of attendees, along with a relaxed networking session that followed. Let’s look back at some of the day’s highlights.

B2B Trends & Solutions: Setting the Stage

Alex Dixon, Solution Specialist at Adobe, opened the event with an overview of key B2B eCommerce trends and how businesses can respond to the rapidly evolving landscape. Alex’s session provided context on everything from the rapid expansion and reliance on eCommerce to technology’s impact on B2B strategy.

He then highlighted the breadth of Adobe solutions, particularly Adobe Commerce, that empower businesses to provide a B2C-like experience as user expectations continue to shift. His introduction and overview gave us a great foundation for the discussions that followed.

UX & Personalisation: Sparking Dynamic Conversations

Laura Hodson, Head of Design at Monsoon Consulting, presented on “UX & Personalisation,” offering insights into creating user-focused eCommerce experiences that strike a balance between personalisation and user comfort. She discussed best practices for using customer data while maintaining a seamless and engaging customer journey.

The session led to a highly engaging Q&A, with discussions branching into topics like how much data is appropriate to collect, where to draw the line between popups and helpful inflow notifications, and how these elements impact overall user experience. 

Bharat Sharma also joined in to address questions around payments and cross-border transactions, contributing to a deeper understanding of how UX ties into broader eCommerce strategies.

Punch Pubs Case Study: A Digital Transformation Journey

The Punch Pubs case study provided an in-depth look at a large-scale digital overhaul designed to create a unified and modern eCommerce platform for pub operators. This fireside chat was led by Monsoon’s eCommerce Solution Specialist, Tadhg Bowe. In conversation with Punch’s Chris Mountjoy, Director of IT, and James Goldsworthy, Head of Digital & Creative, the session outlined how Punch Pubs transitioned from a legacy system to a robust, scalable platform that streamlines operations and enhances the overall user experience. 

The emphasis was on creating an intuitive content management system, improving ordering processes, and supporting their expanding business. The session was incredibly engaging, running well over the allotted time from the incredible wealth of insights and passion with which it was shared. The Q&A was continued over drinks at the after session.

Panel Discussion: Navigating the B2B Landscape

The day continued with a vibrant panel discussion featuring Bhavin Gurnani, Senior Account Executive at Adobe, Kieran O’Brien, Director of Marketing & Communications at Core Optimisation, and Bharat Sharma, Founder & CEO of Monsoon Consulting. 

Covering themes including the forecast for eCommerce spending in 2025, key factors when selecting an eCommerce platform, and the value of partnerships in the ecosystem, the panellists shared their expertise on navigating today’s challenges in B2B eCommerce. The interactive nature of the discussion allowed for deep dives into the complexities of international payments, platform selection, and building strong customer relationships.
